Celebrating 30 Years of the International Fund for Ireland

Welcome to the International Fund for Ireland

The International Fund for Ireland was established as an independent organisation by the British and Irish Governments in 1986 with financial contributions from the United States of America, the European Union, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The total resources committed to the Fund to date amount to £728m / €914m, supporting over 6,000 projects across the island of Ireland. The Fund aims to promote economic and social advance as well as encourage contact and dialogue between nationalists and unionists throughout Ireland.

Peace Impact Programme

PIP is designed to deliver positive community transformation through sensitive intervention with those who have not previously or only partially participated in peace building activities.

Peace Walls Programme

Launched in 2012, this programme focuses on helping interface communities to bring about the conditions that allow the removal of Peace Walls.

Personal Youth Development Programme

Launched in late 2015 the PYDP aims to help at risk young people build and develop life skills that foster good relations, build confidence and resilience and make them more employable.
