Final stage of construction for West Belfast Social Economy Village

The Social Economy Village at Hannahstown Hill, West Belfast came another step closer to completion today with a special ‘topping out’ ceremony. Guests and funders gathered today at Work West’s new build to celebrate the final stage of the construction. When complete later this year, the £1,385,876 project will provide 15,000 sq ft of workspace units for up to 15 established and new companies from the social economy sector. The funding has been provided by the International Fund for Ireland (£493,959); Department for Enterprise, Trade and Investment Peace II (£496,959); a loan from the Ulster Bank (£235,000) and Work West (£190,958). The ‘Topping out’ ceremony was carried out by Jackie Hewitt, Board Member International Fund for Ireland; Paul Carr, Department for Trade and Enterprise; Rachel Marshall, Project Manager Work West; and Kevin Delaney, Chairman Work West.
