Sesame Tree Funders Celebrate Launch of Education Materials
Published on: 8 Feb 2011
style="text-align: justify;">Pictured at the launch of a new series of educational resources to support Sesame Tree, Northern Ireland’s version of Sesame Street are the key funders of the project: (L-R) Francis Jones, Archive Development Officer, from Northern Ireland Screen with Sesame Tree star Archie and Anne Henderson, Board Member, International Fund for Ireland.
Funding from the International Fund for Ireland has allowed the educational resources, designed to support and develop learning, to be made available free of charge to all pre-schools and primary school children across Northern Ireland. The fun, yet educational materials which encourage respect as well as tolerance and acceptance, have been developed in partnership with the Education & Library Boards and Early Years – the organisation for young people.
The new resources complement the education packs produced for the initial series of Sesame Tree. There are two resources available. ‘Let’s Play and Learn Together Again’ is designed for early years practitioners and teachers in pre-schools. ‘Out and About with Hilda 2’ is designed to support the Foundation stage (children aged 3-6 years). Both resources include DVDs feature material from the Sesame Tree show, themed activity cards and detailed teachers’ guides to encourage the personal, social and emotional development aspect from the Foundation stage.
For further information about our funding programmes, or for information on how to apply for funding, please contact the person(s) or organisation(s) identifed at the end of the relevant programme summary in the areas of activity section.
