The official opening of the new £3.5 million Duncairn Centre for Culture  and Arts in North Belfast with the 174 Trust was today (1^st may 2014) celebrated by Belfast’s Lord Mayor, community groups and funders.

Funded primarily by the International Fund for Ireland, the Heritage Lottery Fund and DOE’s Northern Ireland Environment Agency the new state of the art cross-community, Christian, community development transforms the former Presbyterian Church located on Duncairn Avenue on Belfast’s Antrim Road.

The new centre will offer the North Belfast community and surrounding areas a shared space to meet, the opportunity to participate in various activities and also provides an exciting new platform to develop arts and culture for all. It houses a 170 seat theatre and performance space, conference facilities, artist studios, exhibition area and café.
